Sundance Gypsy Horse Farm proudly presents our coming four-year-old Palomino blagdon stallion Sundance aka Lord Calidore for the 2010 breeding season. Sundance stood at stud for Black Forest Gypsy Horses and Shires in 2009 and has since matured into an even more stunning stallion. Sundance spent eight months training at the Driving Horse Connection and shows great athletic talent and aptitude for this discipline. He is also doing very well in his Hunter Equitation training under saddle at home on our property in Littleton, CO.

Sundance’s bloodlines combine the beautiful golden Palomino stallion Thistledown Shantaigh with the stallion quality strawberry blagdon Thistledown Strawberry to produce a golden Palomino stud with white blagdon splashes on his belly. Sundance also inherited his parents’ fine, silky feather and extravagant mane and tail that drags inches behind him. (His mane got rubbed out at his old home and has made an excellent come back.) Sundance was tested heterozygous for the cream dilution gene by the University of Kentucky and has produced some stunning offspring such as Desert Jewel’s top notch Palomino and white colt Fort Knox.

Sundance exemplifies the breed standard with his incredibly short back, square build and apple rump. His excellent confirmation is topped off by a refined yet substantial head complete with a gentle and intelligent eye. Sundance’s temperament never ceases to impress us with his steady and inquisitive outlook on life and solid work ethic. Look for him this summer in driving, riding and halter classes in the Rocky Mountain Region as this exciting stud makes his showing debut.

Sundance’s stud services will be provided and distributed by Brad Ray M.S. of Premier Breeding Services in Kiowa, CO.

UPDATE: Sundance has been champion stallion in halter at the Almost Summer Horse Show and the Continental Divide Horse Show. This past weekend at the Continental Divide show he beat eight other quality stallions. He was Reserve Grand Champion of all the gypsies and has never placed lower than second in his riding and driving classes and pleased us with his first open class win against gypsies, morgans and percherons .

Sundance has a lovely square build
